Although the AirPods Pro didn’t get the better of certain technical comparisons, we sang the stone about the success of Apple’s new wireless headphones in the marketplace, and now that’s taking its course.
According to a new report by Bloomberg, sales of AirPods (including first and second generation, as well as Pros) are expected to double this year, potentially reaching 60 million units, in part thanks to the popularity of the newly launched model.
As Apple does not disclose the exact sales figures for AirPods, the forecast is based on the activities of the gadgets, which is “running out of time” to meet the demand.
That the increase in sales of AirPods this year would be significant there is no denying it, after all, the company launched two versions of its wireless headphones in 2019: the second generation AirPods, last March, with support for “What’s up, Siri” and new wireless charging case, and the AirPods Pro, at the end of last month, with new design, active noise cancellation, Transparency Mode, etc.
Currently, AirPods Pro are not available for immediate delivery at most retailers in the United States; at the Apple Store Online, orders are expected to be delivered only from December 10th.
AirPods Pro among the best inventions of the year
Annually, the TEAM (one of the biggest magazines in the USA) publishes a retrospective with the best inventions of the year; in 2019, AirPods Pro joined the list that already had the participation of the original iPhone, in 2007, iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, in 2015, and several other Apple products throughout history.
Check out what Patrick Lucas Austin, a columnist for TEAM, said about AirPods Pro to rate them as one of the best inventions of the year:
What differentiates Apple’s new $ 249 AirPods Pro from your regular headphones? In addition to the wireless charging case that fits in your pocket, the headphones have advanced noise management features, smart design options and software features. A complementary feature that helps adapt the right-sized silicone ear tips makes it easy to secure water-resistant headphones – and the classic problems of in-ear headphones, such as clogged ears, disappear because of the ventilated design. Active noise cancellation silences the world around you – but you can choose to maintain environmental awareness by activating “transparency mode”. Although you can no longer connect a headphone splitter to an iPhone, you can use AirPods Pro (or a second pair of AirPods) to share audio with a friend when paired with any device installed with iOS 13. It all works in an unparalleled experience when it comes to truly wireless headphones.
To assemble the list with the 100 best inventions of the year, TEAM received tens of thousands of product nominations; they then evaluated each suggestion based on key factors, including originality, creativity, influence, ambition and effectiveness.
