Airmail fixes security flaw on Mac

Last week, we talked here about a security breach or, to be more precise, a set of hair-raising hairs on the client Airmail for Mac, which could expose all your emails to attacking agents with a simple malicious link (or, in some cases, not even that).

At that time, the developers of the application stated that they were working on a correction that could arrive later that day and tried to put warm cloths on the subject, stating that the threats were hypothetical and that no user had actually been affected. Well, apparently the discovery of the breaches was enough for them to move with some speed, since the new version of the client has already been released covering all the holes that made possible the action of the invaders.

Who noticed the novelty was the AppleInsider; in addition to pointing out that Airmail for Mac version 3.6 is already completely safe again, it still brought some good arguments for users who want a more complete solution than Mail (native to the system) among them we can mention the configuration of personalized reminders, the integration with third party services (like OmniFocus or Fantastical) and the most intuitive way to capture contact information. We, of course, have a complete comparison of email clients with Airmail on the cake, if you are in the process of making the jump and do not know exactly where to go.

In the Mac App Store update notes, Airmail developers just wrote “URL security fix”. Laconic, yes, but at least the problem is theoretically solved. Everything back to normal, guys.
