AirDroid is a good alternative for those who are dissatisfied with AirDrop, native feature of iOS / macOS

AirDrop. It is something that, on paper, is simply incredible! Imagine just transferring photos, videos and everything between iPhones, iPads, iPods touch and Macs in a way as simple as touching / clicking a button. The proposal is this, but in practice the story is quite different. I already lost count of how many times I had to resort to other solutions (send the photo by message or by email, include it in a note, etc.) to remedy this situation.

Before AirDrop existed, there were solutions like Instashare, which set out to do just that. But, with the arrival of AirDrop, they were forgotten; coming out of the apples and invading the robots, we have the AirDroid, a solution that not only serves to exchange wireless files between devices, but also to manage the smartphone or tablet through the computer, mirroring notifications or even optimizing the performance of the devices.

Now, the company responsible for developing the AirDroid (Sand Studio) has released a version for it for iOS.

As it is a closed ecosystem, AirDroid for iOS is much more limited than when running on Android, basically serving as a replacement even for the unreliable AirDrop. The interesting thing about AirDroid is that it is a multiplatform solution, present on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and even on the web. That is, you can transfer files with almost anyone, no matter what device is used.

Going a bit beyond Apple's native feature, with AirDroid you can remotely manage your photos and videos on iGadget on the Mac (either from the native app or the web). Other types of documents, unfortunately, are restricted to the AirDroid and cannot be accessed directly by other applications, something intrinsic to the iOS design.

If you are dissatisfied with AirDrop and want to try new ways to transfer files between your devices, the macOS application can be downloaded from the official AirDroid website, while the web version can be accessed at this link. The iOS app is on box above.
