Air France and KLM launched a new service check in which allows you to confirm a flight via SMS. With this feature, airline passengers can use their mobile phone to choose their seat on the plane for a period that varies between 30 hours and 30 minutes before the flight.
THE check in made by the customer is later confirmed by the company via SMS. When the customer arrives at the airport, he only has to issue the plane ticket at a self-service kiosk, this if he has no luggage.
For Air France customers this new service will be available in a first phase for flights departing from the main cities in the country and in Europe.
For KLM customers the service will be available on short and medium-haul flights. At the end of the year, the functionality should be extended to the entire network of both companies.
The service assumes the use of a mobile phone with Internet access. Frequent airline passengers will be the first to receive an invitation to try this new check in mobile.
