Thinking about how you could better enjoy an iPad even when connected to your Mac? It seems difficult to imagine a user connected to content on these two devices at the same time, but Avatron Software promises to make it easy soon with the launch of Air Display. Basically, it will make Apple's tablet a second monitor for any company computer.

Using the app on the iPad and a preference panel to control it on the Mac, you can use the tablet as a monitor anywhere a Wi-Fi connection is available for sending images. The product will be compatible with the Mac OS X display extension mode, meaning you can move windows from one screen to the other naturally.
In addition, it will also be possible to use the tablet's multi-touch screen for mouse control, since the application will interpret your gestures as mouse commands for clicks. Thus, it will be possible to browse the internet with Safari maximized on the iPad screen and use your Mac's higher resolution display for editing images or videos, for example.
Air Display will be shipped to the App Store this week and will be available for purchase soon. For the time being, the price of the product has not been disclosed.
