Classic strategy game for PCs, Age of Mythology returns in May with improved graphics, Steamworks and Twitch.
Microsoft announced that the classic real-time strategy game Age of Mythology will be adapted for a relaunch in May. The game’s graphics will receive a slight redesign and support for Windows 7 and 8, as well as for HD monitors widescreen.
Age of Mythology (AoM), a spin off of the franchise Age of Empires, was a success when launched in 2002: more than one million copies were sold in the first five months. Although the gameplay of Mythology be similar to that of Empires, the game’s plot exchanges real historical periods for the mythology of three ancient societies: Greeks, Egyptians and Norse, as well as the legendary continent of Atlantis.
The version that will go on sale at Steam, called Extended Edition, will bring the original game and the expansion The Titans, with improvements in ambient lighting and water reproduction, integration with Steamwoks, including for online multiplayer mode and even streaming via Twitch.
To pique fans’ curiosity, Microsoft released a trailer with the news. The pre-order for Age of Mythology starts in April.
