IOS 11, the next version of the iPhone system scheduled to arrive in September, will come with a new App Store. Apple announced the news during the WWDC17 conference this week. At the time, the company detailed how it intends to recover the excitement of the store’s first months, when users searched daily for new apps and games to download. To achieve the goal, the apple company bets on a design that highlights an application a day on the home screen and brings a tab dedicated to games.

The look resembles that previously adopted on Apple Music (the company’s online music platform, which competes with Spotify and Deezer), with colorful virtual cards that take up most of the screen. In the «Today» tab, updated daily, the idea is to give visibility to selected downloads, as well as to the developers and the journeys that led them to create the programs and gain success among iPhone users worldwide.
The same happens with games, tutorials and a series of other important information on the App Store home screen, which change every day.

Apple took the opportunity to announce the first highlight of the new App Store. Monument Valley 2, sequel to the hit game, is now available for download. The store shows much more content about the featured apps, and finally starts showing videos, as in the Google Play Store on Android.
Games gain special space
Games have their own tab in the new App Store. Right at the beginning, the store displays the main releases and the most popular downloads. In addition, there is details for a selection of weekly games chosen by Apple. Again, there is frequent use of videos to publicize the resources of the games and to convince the user to download them. In general, there is much more information about all download options.

The games tab also contains lists by categories, such as «The most beautiful games» and «Games you can like» – the latter based on the user’s history. The App Store will also give more visibility to user reviews.
All of these changes will land on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch with iOS 11. It is expected that the system download will be released in September. It will work on most Apple devices, but it is not compatible with the iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and fourth generation iPad.
