After months of testing, Mozilla releases Firefox for iOS in App Stores worldwide

At the beginning of September, Mozilla launched a new version of the Firefox for iOS originally announced in late 2014.

For the fox's red panda browser is now available worldwide on the App Store.

Experience a fast, smart and personal web. Firefox is the independent browser, thinking first about people made by Mozilla, elected the most reliable internet company in privacy. Upgrade today and join the hundreds of millions who depend on Firefox for a more personal browsing experience.

Firefox for iOS promises not only to be fast, but also offers smart searches, private browsing, synchronization with Firefox accounts, visual tabs, easy access to favorite websites, among others.

We know that “behind the scenes”, Apple does not allow developers like Mozilla to launch browsers with engines on iOS. In other words, Firefox for iPads and iPhones / iPods touch uses the same WebKit engine as Safari, instead of its traditional Gecko (the same occurs with Google Chrome, which cannot use Blink). Still, for users of Firefox on desktops, having it now also on iOS is a hand in the wheel especially when it comes to synchronizing history, favorites and open tabs.
