After Apple's blockade, Oracle quickly updates Java to OS X [atualizado]

Yesterday we commented that Apple once again blocked the execution of Java on OS X due to security holes in version 1.7.0_11-b22 (Java 7 Update 11), released by Oracle in mid-January. As the company ran and already released a new update (Java 7 Update 13), which was scheduled to be released on February 19.

According to Oracle, the update includes fixes for several vulnerabilities, in addition to also including non-security related fixes.

The download can be done via the embedded Java system or through the Java website.

Apple also released Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 12 (72.7MB), especially for Snow Leopard users. It updates Java SE 6 to version 1.6.0_39, offering general improvements in security, reliability and compatibility.
