Market research firm eMarketer revealed in a report now released that advertising investment in the social network is expected to exceed $ 1 billion (more precisely, $ 1.28 billion or € 1 billion). The value will be applied to initiatives that seek to take advantage of the success of the social network and bring brands closer to their members.

«Brands are making Facebook a core product,» explains Debra Aho Williamson, an analyst at the company in statements cited by France Press.

The official explains that advertising expenditure on the social network has increased rapidly and that this is due to the fact that the service has reached a critical mass that marketers can no longer ignore.

The same source indicates that the success of the ads placed on Facebook, which has also encouraged advertisers, is largely due to the tool that the service makes available to advertisers and that allows them, in self-service mode, to create their ads and direct them to specific targets based on criteria such as gender or age. This tool is used in about half of the ads placed on the platform.
