Adobe warns that Motorola Xoom is its priority

After the news that the tablet Motorola Xoom will temporarily leave the factory without Flash, Adobe, owner of the technology, said it hopes to announce the release of the new version of Flash Player in the coming weeks.

“Adobe will offer Flash 10.2 pre-installed on some tablets and via download (OTA) on Android 3.0 Honeycomb. The first tablet to receive will be the Motorola Xoom, ”said the company on its official blog.

Version 10.2 is eagerly awaited as it features important optimizations for tablet devices and its progress is being worked on and monitored by Motorola itself.

Still, according to Adobe, more than 20 million smartphones were updated with Flash Player in 2010 and more than 150,000 consumers on Android Market rated the technology 4.5 to 5 stars.

“We raised our estimates for 2011 and expect to see Flash installed on more than 132 million devices by the end of this year. Consumers are clearly asking for Flash support on tablet devices and the good news is that they won’t have to wait long. ”
