Adobe has released a new update to the software Lightroom. Version 1.1 of the application is available free of charge to registered users and adds new functions to the application.

Among the novelties included, the compatibility with Windows Vista and the integration of a flexible image management system for workflows carried out on multiple computers stand out.

With the new version, some tools of the application have been improved, among which are those intended for the treatment of shadows, red-eye reduction and others for image adjustments. Lightroom 1.1 also includes support for 13 camera raw file formats manufactured by brands such as Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Phase One.

As with Apple’s Aperture, Adobe’s Lightroom allows photographers to import, display and edit large amounts of digital images.

It is worth noting that Lightroom integrates Adobe Photoshop’s Camera Raw technology and supports JPEG and TIFF file formats.
