THE Adobe announced yesterday that its website creation software, the Muse, be discontinued for both Macs and PCs.
Launched in 2011, Muse helped those who wanted to customize and edit their websites without having to have programming knowledge.
Although it has helped many people, the company says that "the trends in creating websites" have changed, so it needed to change its strategy.
I mean, it is very common to see people improving their code skills or even platforms providing easy tools for editing and creating responsive websites, which ends up making it useless to pay for software like Muse.
As part of this change, the company is advising Muse users to use Adobe XD, which does not generate a web-ready code, but a complete solution for users to design, create prototypes and collaborate with those involved.
Those who just want to show their creative work can use Adobe Portfolio, which can be connected to Behance, while those who would only use a web page to post photo stories, newsletters or landing pages should opt for Adobe Spark.
Muse is now being discontinued, but technical support for Creative Cloud customers will remain active until May 20, 2019.
After that date, Adobe will officially and completely stop developing new features for the software.
