Adobe After Effects gains function that makes objects disappear from the video

Adobe announced on Monday (15) the new function Content Aware Fill for Video for After Effects, capable of removing objects from videos automatically. The tool is aimed at professionals who need to clean scenarios of people, animals and other unwanted elements without having to edit the video frame by frame in Photoshop.

During the Adobe Max event, the company demonstrated how to mark dynamic objects and exclude them from the scene in a few clicks, automatically filling the empty space with the background. The novelty will be included in a future version of After Effects, with no release date yet.

According to Adobe, the feature should save precious time for video editing professionals. Instead of exporting the frames to Photoshop, editing them one by one and reincorporating them into the video, Content Aware Fill allows you to create a mask with a simple geometric shape to position it on the object to be removed. After Effects analyzes the video on its own and fills the marked space with the same information from the surroundings, extending the change to the rest of the clip, dynamically.

In the demo, After Effects took just a few seconds to remove a horse from a desert landscape and fill the space with the same texture as the background. The company, however, did not detail the specifications of the computer used in the demonstration.

Adobe has also announced new tools to speed up the creation of complex animations, improvements inherited from Premiere Pro to adjust the pace of characters, among other news aimed at editing animated graphics.

Adobe launched Premiere Pro 13 with performance improvements, new selective color grading, incremental workflows for editing animated graphics, intelligent audio cleaning and 180-degree virtual reality video compatibility. There is also a new splash screen, support for Premiere Rush projects and vector graphic editing function.

Audition, on the other hand, gained important improvements for editing multiple audio tracks. The program now supports up to 128 playback tracks, or recording 32 tracks simultaneously, in low latency. Performance, according to the manufacturer, is best guaranteed on machines with SSD and using the software’s pre-rendering feature to reduce the weight on the hardware.
