As of tomorrow, the Simplex version for Local Administration advances in nine municipalities across the country. Águeda, Cascais, Guimarães, Lisbon, Pombal, Portalegre, Porto, Redondo and Seixal will be the first Chambers to put on the ground the measures that intend to «improve the quality of life of citizens and reduce administrative burdens for citizens and companies» , refers to a statement from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

Simplex Autárquico brings together proposals from the nine participating municipalities and AMA – Agency for Administrative Modernization and will benefit «from the experience and success of the Central Administration’s legislative and administrative simplification program» and its «more than 450 measures to reduce bureaucratization, dematerialization» and administrative simplification, «says the statement.

Simplex Autárquico’s measures are grouped into three modules: intersectoral measures, which depend on collaboration between central and local administration; intermunicipal measures, which depend on the articulation between the participating municipalities; municipal measures, which depend on the exclusive commitment of each municipality.

According to the Government, «it is a program open to all municipalities that wish to join this joint effort of simplification and is governed by the same principles that guided the central administration program: public consultation, transparency and accountability».
