89 projects that are candidates for NEOTEC support are still being evaluated by the Innovation Agency, a program that encourages the creation of technology-based companies.
Applications to the program, financed by the III Community Support Framework, closed on October 31, but the body with competence in the evaluation is still in the process of evaluating the last projects submitted to tender.
So far, 66 business projects have been approved, resulting in 30 new technology-based companies. Information about some of these new companies has since become available on the AdI website, in an initiative that aims to publicize these new business projects and exchange contacts.
In the long term, the list will be extended, a statement guarantees. The information associated with each new company allows to know the characteristics of the project, its investment and objectives.
The NEOTEC Initiative is part of Measure 7.2 – R&D Business Initiatives in the area of ​​ICT and is integrated in priority axis 7 – Integrated ICT innovation of the Knowledge Society Operational Program (POS_Conhecimento).
Between 2005 and 2006, 148 projects applied for support from NEOTEC.
