If you type "effects" into the App Store search tool, you find dozens of apps that promise to improve, or even transform, the look of your images. However, not all available apps are so easy to use besides that often they don't get the most out of what iPhones have to offer.
In the case of the new iPad Pro and the X, XS, XS Max and XR iPhones, the TrueDepth front camera can (incredibly) process images with depth so much that the effects of Portrait Mode are very realistic.
To leverage the potential of Portrait Mode imagery, young Austrian developer Leonard Pospichal launched the app Fuzion, which allows you to add amazing effects to these images very simply and the result is spectacular.
More precisely, the app uses data from the TrueDepth camera (and the rear camera of the 8 Plus, X, XS and XS Max models) to automatically separate your silhouette from the background of the image. This way you can combine several (beautiful) scenarios to your images very well, simplifying editing work that could be done in Photoshop or the Enlight app, for example.
To get started, simply capture an image in Portrait Mode (from the front camera of Face ID iPhones or devices with dual rear camera systems; except the iPhone 7 Plus). Or, select an image from the Photo Library. The app will automatically detect a silhouette and from there you will be able to select the best filter, effect and background to match your photo.
