Acer is collecting notebooks manufactured before the 15th of September, from five different models. The measure aims to minimize the impacts of a defect that leads to equipment overheating and can cause its malfunction.
The models being collected are the AS3410, AS3810T, AS3810TG, AS3810TZ and AS3810TZG, as can be confirmed on the company’s website, where there is more detailed information about the problem. On the Internet, it is also possible to enter the machine’s serial number and find out whether or not it needs repair.
According to the explanation, overheating is a problem with the microphone cable that is active when a lot of pressure is exerted and repeatedly in the left hand support area of the laptop, below the keyboard.
The overheating caused in these cases can cause the system to malfunction, which is why the company will replace the damaged cable in all notebooks of the series in question.
