A Smile with ICT links three new pediatric hospital units to the Internet

Coordinated by FDTI – Foundation for the Dissemination of Information Technologies, this initiative aims to provide hospitalized children with access to the Internet, PCs, and the Internet. software playful and formative program that helps to improve and make your hospital stays more productive.

In this second phase of the «Um Sorriso com TIC» initiative, the Infante D. Pedro hospital in Aveiro, the São Marcos hospital in Braga and the Reynaldo dos Santos hospital in Vila Franca Xira are targeted.

In these units, the two-year-old program is aimed at children aged 2 to 14 years, as well as technicians, hospital volunteers and family members of the children.

«The operationalization of the project is achieved through the combined implementation of infrastructures and playful-training content (playful-training solutions for hospitalized children and specific training for hospital technicians and family members of children), explains a statement.

According to the same document, the training aims to ensure correct monitoring of children in the use of PCs and computer applications made available to them.

Partners of the initiative are Optimus, HP, Anacom, Trivalor and Porto Editora.
