The company announced on its blog that on the following platforms it will no longer be possible to create a new account or verify an existing account:
- Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread and earlier versions (as of February 1, 2020)
- iOS 8 and earlier (as of February 1, 2020).
This means that, theoretically, it will still be possible to continue using the application (if you already have an account), but in a limited way, as some features may stop working at any time. The subject much worse for those who use the operating system known as Windows Phone. As of January 1, 2020, Windows Phone will no longer receive any support from WhatsApp.
