As of December, 99 will start offering new safety features for both passengers and drivers on the platform. Among the novelties is the audio recording during the races, a function to block users, as well as a filter that connects drivers to female customers. According to a company note on Monday (9), the goal is to increase the level of protection for those who use the service.

The 99 Woman feature allows female drivers to serve only passengers. The blocking tool, on the other hand, is available to everyone: both professionals and users can block each other at the end of a race to avoid new calls. The same goes for recordings: the passenger app and the driver version will now allow you to save audio during a race.
Other changes have to do with combating the creation of false profiles. To increase the level of reliability of those who register on the platform, 99 will always show the “official” name of the user in the account, according to the CPF database. In addition, some people will be selected randomly at the time of registration to make a proof of life when registering a photo.
The news is valid for all the modalities offered by 99: 99Taxi, 99Pop, private cars, 99Top, luxury taxis, 99Share, shared races, and 99Comfort, which offers new and spacious cars driven by well-rated drivers. Some categories are present in a few cities.
