Of the total number of Internet users residing in the Portuguese continent, 2.5 million habitually access e-commerce sites, which corresponds to 82 percent of the universe under study, says Marktest.
The data, referring to last year, indicate that over the period under analysis, more than 772 million pages of commerce sites were visited, which totals an average of 311 pages per user.
In total, users spent more than 6 million hours browsing these sites, which makes an average of 2 hours and 28 minutes per Internet user.
According to the analysis published on the website of the market research company, December was the month in which the e-commerce pages had the highest turnout. This month, around 1.311 million Internet users accessed websites e-commerce. August was the month with the lowest number of visitors: 1.151 million.
The Fnac website was the one that, throughout 2007, had the largest number of unique users (965 thousand visitors), followed by Worten (923 thousand) and Amazon (836 thousand). With regard to page-views, miau.pt was the site that stood out with more than 154 million pages viewed, followed by Fnac (82 million) and La Redoute (77 million).
Marktest also mentions that miau.pt was also the site where Internet users spent more time browsing – about 675 thousand hours. Once again, Fnac obtained second place, with more than 441 thousand hours and La Redoute came in third, with almost 372 thousand hours.
