The Ministry of Finance and Public Administration has already presented the final figures regarding the delivery, via the Internet, of tax returns by taxpayers in the two phases planned to comply with this tax obligation, relating to the year 2009.
This year, more than 80 percent of taxpayers preferred the Internet to submit their tax returns, the figures in a press release reveal.
Until the end of the period legally foreseen for the submission of declarations related to the 2nd phase, which ended last Friday, 3.8 million electronic declarations were received in the online service of the General Directorate of Contributions and Taxes, for a total of 4 , 7 million delivery declarations, in combination paper and online delivery.
It is recalled that this year the State established a new measure to encourage the delivery of the IRS via the Internet, assuming the commitment to pay the refunds to the taxpayers who were entitled, within a maximum period of 20 days.
In the note sent to the press, MFAP recalls the incentive measure and adds that 3.3 million declarations have already been settled. Of the 1.8 million repayments due, 1.5 million have already been paid.
