8 Tips and Tricks for Getting the Best Out of AirPods Pro

In December 2019, Apple began selling the new AirPods Pro in Brazil for R $ 2,250. The latest version has as main highlights the in-ear fit and an active noise canceling function. According to Apple, technology is capable of analyzing the external environment 200 times per second to eliminate as much noise as possible, ensuring cleaner reproduction.

In addition, there is the so-called Ambient mode, which lets the external sound through and lets you talk naturally while listening to your music. The earphones are sweat and water resistant, and the microphone has an expanded protection grille that enhances calls in windy locations.

To get the most out of the new AirPods Pro, here are some tips:

1. Audio Sharing: Use the feature to listen to music, podcasts, or other streaming with someone who also has AirPods. To use the feature, go to Control Center, click AirPlay, and then select Share audio. Open the second set of headphones box and click Connect. Works with iPhone 8 or later and iPod touch (7th generation) with latest iOS version, 12.9 inch iPad Pro (2 generation or later), 11 inch iPad Pro, 10.5 inch iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation or later), iPad Air (3rd generation) and iPad mini (5th generation) with the latest version of iPadOS.

2. Listen to a conversation away from you: No one is telling you to become a stalker, but with AirPods Pro you can turn on the microphones to hear a conversation from afar. To enable this option, go to the Settings> Control Center menu and make sure the “Audio” tab is enabled. If it is, swipe from the top right corner of your iPhone and press and hold the cone. Now just enable the option “Listen Live”.

3. Use only one AirPod: If you need to save battery, it is a good tip to use only one AirPod. This is a trick to "double" the usage time: so the AirPod battery you are using runs out, put it back in the case and use the other fully charged headset.

4. Quickly enable or disable noise cancellation: The killer feature of the new AirPods Pro is Active Noise Canceling, which drastically reduces ambient sounds so you can focus only on what you're playing. You can activate or deactivate the feature in two ways: by briefly pressing and holding the handset stem until you hear a beep. You can also open your smartphone's Control Center, press and hold the headset icon located inside the volume bar to view the mode options.

5. Change the hand gestures: Unlike previous AirPods, instead of touching one of the headphones, the rods act as a button. You can choose what this long press on the handset rod does. To do this, just go to Settings> Bluetooth and click the "i" next to the AirPods Pro name while you have them in your ear. You can choose either side to enable Siri instead of canceling noise, for example.

6. Find out the right size of ear tips: A good seal is essential to experience the effect of active noise cancellation. To verify that you are using the correct tip size, go to the Settings> Bluetooth menu and click the "i" located next to the name of your AirPods. Tap “Tip Adjustment Test”. You may need a different size in each ear.

7 Remove AirPods from Box Properly: To get the AirPods out of the case you need to do a sideways move, but in the case of AirPods Pro, you need to pull them toward you.

8. Use AirPods Pro to do exercises: AirPods Pro are water and sweat resistant, but not waterproof or sweat proof. You can use them for physical activities, but not for exercise and non-water sports such as swimming, or while bathing. After exercise, heavy sweating or splashing water, and before placing the AirPods Pro in the wireless recharge case, wipe them with a soft, dry lint-free cloth.
