WhatsApp is one of the most downloaded applications in the world and this week reached the mark of 5 billion downloads on the Google Play Store. Despite being so famous, some useful messenger resources go unnoticed by users and are not used on a daily basis. For example, it is possible to prevent contacts from adding someone to groups without the person's permission, or to send an alert to let friends know that the user has changed their number. With the call on hold, you can receive calls through the app even when you are already on another call. WhatsApp sends a notification to the user informing the type of call (voice or video) that is being requested, and allows you to decide whether to answer the call while the conversation is in progress. The function is activated by default from version 2.19.120 for iPhone (iOS) and edition number 2.19.357 for Android.

The new group privacy setting allows users to choose not to be added to groups without authorization. The function is available in the privacy part of the settings section of the application, and offers the options "all", "my contacts" and "my contacts except …" to choose who can add you to collective conversations. If someone who does not have permission tries to include you in groups, the invitation address for the chat will be sent via message, and it is possible to decide whether to participate in the conversation.

3. Reply to group message privately
The feature allows you to reply to specific messages sent in a group through a private chat. The function is available in the message options menu as "reply in private". When selecting it, the user is redirected to the contact's private chat, and the message to be answered is indicated in the typing bar.

4. Autoplay of audio in sequence
The autoplay of audio in sequence consists of the automatic reproduction of voice messages sent consecutively in a WhatsApp conversation. The function is present by default in the application and it is not possible to disable it. Just play the first audio and the next one will be played in sequence. The useful feature for those who usually listen to many people on WhatsApp and do not want to waste time pressing play on each voice message.

5. Notify number change
When changing your phone number, WhatsApp gives you the option to notify your cell phone contacts about the change. You can notify only specific people, or all numbers saved in the messenger. The alert is displayed on the conversation page, and provides a shortcut to start another private chat with the user from the new number.

6. Automatic messages in WhatsApp Business
The feature available for WhatsApp Business allows you to automate responses in the messenger, and it is ideal for business accounts to contact customers quickly. It is possible to configure the time in which the automatic messages will be sent and to choose greetings or absent texts to inform consumers about working hours, or simply to welcome them.

7. Quick messages in WhatsApp Business
While automated messages send texts at specific times, WhatsApp Business's quick responses allow you to create shortcuts to send standard messages during a conversation with customers. The predefined texts and shortcut codes are customized by the user, and can be activated in chats by typing the forward slash (/) in the conversation field.
