The Facebook registration asks for an email address for the login, which is exposed in the profile for all to see. Users who prefer to hide the information should go to «Settings and Privacy» and enter «Privacy Shortcuts». Touch the «Review some important privacy settings» option and go to «Who can see what you share». Press «Continue» and search for «Email». Touch the corresponding arrow and choose between «Public», «Friends» and «Only me».

2. When the user is online

It is also possible to see the «Online status» of your contacts in Messenger. Making this information available, however, makes the user subject to receiving messages at unwanted moments. To disable the option, open the app and tap Messenger. In the top left menu, touch the profile photo and go to «Online Status». Press the key next to the phrase «Show when you are online». Finally, confirm in «Disable».

The «Friends in the vicinity» feature allows you to know the location of your friends on a map with certain precision, with the proposal of finding acquaintances when passing or traveling. If you don’t want your likes on pages and your friends list to be shown to everyone, go to «Settings and Privacy» and tap «Privacy Shortcuts». Go to «Review some important privacy settings» and continue with «Who can see what you share». Continue until you reach «Friends and People / Pages you are following». In this menu, you can configure who can see your friends list and the pages and people you follow.
