Requesting and tracking government benefits over the Internet is an option during the new coronavirus pandemic, as it offers greater practicality, in addition to avoiding crowds in lotteries and service stations – an important preventive measure against Covid-19. With government applications, Brazilian citizens can apply for Unemployment Insurance and Salary Allowance, as well as check the availability of other benefits, such as Bolsa Família.

According to the Federal Government, since March 15, one of the most accessed services on the Gov.br portal is the registration for the emergency aid program, which can be done completely digitally through the application and the website. Check, in the list below, the official apps for Android and iPhone (iOS) that can help to query data and access some of the services most sought by citizens.

1. Consult the Single Registry
CadÚnico is a government program capable of identifying and implementing public policies to support families in the most vulnerable situations, who are in poverty or extreme poverty. Through the Single Registry, Brazilian citizens can participate in assistance programs, such as Bolsa Família and Minha Casa, Minha Vida, for example.

To register for the program, it is necessary to go to a service center at the Reference Center for Social Assistance (CRAS), with all the necessary documentation, which includes the CPF or Voter Title of the person in charge of the family, proof of residence and a document with photo of all family members. Therefore, it is not possible to sign up for CadÚnico online through the website or the application, but to monitor your registration status.
Through the My CadÚnico application, those enrolled in the program can answer questions and consult registration data. It is also possible to check if there is any pending in any data provided and consult the nearest service stations. Through the app, subscribers can also know their NIS number (Social Identification Number) and check other social programs offered by the Ministry of Social Development.
2. Request emergency assistance
Emergency Aid is a R $ 600 monthly benefit, offered by the Federal Government and paid by Caixa Econômica Federal, which aims to maintain a basic emergency income for families most affected by the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. Assistance can be requested by Brazilian citizens who are unemployed or who work informally, in addition to MEIs and self-employed workers.

The benefit request can be made through the Caixa | Emergency Assistance or the website (auxilio.caixa.gov.br/#/inicio). The application allows potential beneficiaries to proceed with the aid request and follow up on an already made request. It is worth remembering that the benefit can be accumulated by up to two members of the same family.
It is not necessary for beneficiaries to go to a Caixa lottery, as payments are made through online transfers. The beneficiary can choose to receive the benefit amount in an existing account, and those who do not have a bank account can use the Caixa Tem app with Caixa’s digital social savings.
3. Apply for unemployment insurance
Unemployment Insurance is a labor right provided for by law and can be requested by the Digital Work Card application. The app also allows you to consult other benefits, such as the Bonus Allowance and the Emergency Benefit (BEm), which was instituted in the midst of the pandemic to ensure workers who had a suspended work contract or temporary salary reduction.

To proceed with the application for Unemployment Insurance through the app, just access it through the registered CPF number and password – it is also possible to create your account through the application. Then, click on the «Benefits» tab and check the availability of the aid offered. Tap on each of them to get more information on «Learn More» and tap on «Consult» to find out if you are entitled to the benefit.
To apply for unemployment insurance, you must have the insurance claim number, which is delivered by the employer. It can be accessed in «Consult» and, in «Request», you can start claiming the benefit.
4. Consult CPF registration information

The CPF Digital application allows individuals to consult their registration number and obtain the document in digital form, which has the same validity as the printed versions. Through the app, it is also possible to download CNH Digital, and the authenticity of the data can be verified through a QR Code.
To access your documents, enter your CPF number and date of birth and proceed with the information requested by the application. It is also necessary to take a photo, which acts as a form of authentication of the app, in addition to creating a PIN to access the app. Afterwards, you will have access to your documents, just tap on the CPF or CNH to display them.
5. Consult information from Bolsa Família
Bolsa Família is a social income transfer program maintained by the Federal Government and Caixa Econômica Federal, which seeks to guarantee access and the right to food, education and health for families in the most vulnerable situation, bordering on poverty and extreme poverty.

To receive the Bolsa Família benefit, it is necessary to be enrolled in CadÚnico. The selection of families that will receive the benefit is carried out monthly by the Ministry of Social Development, and the family composition and income of each member of the family are considered.
Through the Bolsa Família Caixa application, beneficiaries can consult balances, a calendar with the benefit payment dates, installments already released and a detailed statement, in addition to the nearest Caixa branch for assistance and tips on how to better organize finances.
