3G and 4G on the way to two billion users

CE تستثمر 50 مليون يورو في الجيل الخامس لاستعادة ريادتها في مجال الهاتف المحمول

Two billion people worldwide are on the verge of being covered by third and fourth generation mobile data networks. In addition to the existing infrastructures, 500 new 3G networks and 300 Wimax and LTE networks are already compromised or announced, reveals a study by ABI Research. The completion of these projects will have a very strong impact on the global coverage of third and fourth generation technologies.

The consultant stresses that the unfair distribution of these infrastructures around the world is often related to government bureaucracy, in the respective technology licensing processes.

India and Thailand are countries mentioned in the study, where issues of this type influenced the development of the 3rd and 4th generation mobile services market.

Also according to the consultant, about 82 percent of the population in Western Europe is covered by 3G networks, more than in Asia Pacific where only 12 percent of the population has access to this type of technology. However, this is one of the most promising regions in the world for the expansion of technology in the coming years.
