3D model of the “iPhone 7” shows protrusion of the camera; analyst updates his predictions about the new device

Earlier, we talked about John Gruber's speculation about the upcoming iPhone of 2017, and highlighted his comment that the supposed iPhone 7, to be announced this year, would come without much change. Well, now we have some more evidence to talk about.

First, we have a series of alleged 3D CAD models of the new device, obtained by uSwitch through @OnLeaks. The drawings show two devices, one with a 4.7 inch screen (above) and the other 5.5 (below); that is, nothing new in that sense. Apart from the size, the devices are almost the same: both have a redesign of the antenna lines, which are much less obstructive, in addition to the lack of a headphone outlet and three “pins” on the rear face that may or may not be the first appearance of Smart Connector on the iPhone denying a rumor from days ago that, in turn, also denied another rumor.

(T hard not to go crazy with these rumors)

Ah, the two supposed new devices also keep, to the world’s despair, the infamous protruding cameras. Speaking of cameras, this is the only other differentiating point between the models: as speculated, only the largest of them will receive the rear dual camera, which is evidenced by the different shape of the lens aperture.

Continuing on the iPhone 7 theme, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, from the economic analysis firm KGI Securities, updated and corrected its forecasts today for the device to be launched this year.

The rumor of the dual rear camera system is firmer and stronger than ever, according to Kuo, but he corrects his original January forecast: now, he believes that all models of the “iPhone 7 Plus” (let's call it that, for simplify) you will receive this feature, and not just a top-of-the-line version, as previously speculated.

As it is a high memory demand system, Kuo also predicts that all 5.5 inch iPhone models will be equipped with 3GB RAM in this year. The ordinary 4.7-inch iPhone 7, which looks like it will be left out of the game, even.
