Over the past year, 3.47 million Portuguese Internet users have visited the YouTube video service. The number represents 84.3 percent of the universe of users, says Marktest.

The data from the market research company also shows that more than one million Portuguese people visited the platform weekly. The week with the highest number of accesses counted from Portugal was between 7 and 13 April, when more than 1.23 million accessed the site. The week of May 19 to 25, on the other hand, was the week in which the Portuguese visited a greater number of pages on the service, a total of 39 million.

In total for the year, each Portuguese visited an average of 406 pages on the site, contributing to a final sum of pages visited of 1.4 billion.

The Marktest survey took into account the habits of Internet users residing in Portugal and over four years of age. It also allowed us to realize that although the use of YouTube is widespread, it is among the 15-24 age group that the service is most popular.

Figures released recently by comScore show that globally YouTube has already reached the 100 million user mark.
