3.3 million used the Internet from home in September

Last September, 3.36 million Portuguese people accessed the Internet from home, according to data released by Marktest. The number represents an increase of 2.7 percent over the previous month and a decrease of 1.6 percent over the same period last year.

During the period, 3.5 billion Web pages were visited by Portuguese Internet users, with an average of 1,084 pages per user. 34 million hours were spent online by those who accessed the Internet, an average of 10 per user. Both in the visited sites and in the hours spent online, there was an increase compared to the previous month.

With regard to user preferences, the domain wikipedia.org recorded the highest monthly increase in unique users, although Google.pt remains in the lead with 2.9 million visitors. Sapo.pt takes second place with 2.37 million unique users.

With regard to the most visited pages, hi5.com remains in the lead with 469 million pages visited.
