Internet video viewing continues to break records. In July, in the United States alone, 21.4 billion videos were viewed by a total of 158 million users, who on average watched 135 videos each.
The number of videos watched online in July is – according to comScore, which figures the numbers – a record. Another record is the number of Internet users who used this type of content.
Google continues to lead the online video audience by responding, via YouTube, to 42 percent of the content required by the user, about 8.9 billion. Each YouTube user saw an average of 74 videos. During the month of July 121 million passed through the service.
Viacom was the second most used option by those who watched videos online and Microsoft sites the third, respectively with 3.8 and 3 percent of the audience, far from the numbers achieved by YouTube.
