Google Shortener, Google's URL shortening service, will be discontinued in March 2019. According to the company's software engineer, Michael Hermanto, the end of support for goo.gl will begin within a few weeks. Users who are anonymous or have never created a reduced link will lose access to the resource as of April 13th. Those who have used the service logged into their Google accounts will be able to continue to shorten and monitor the performance of URLs until March 30, 2019.
From then on, the company's attention will be focused on Firebase Dynamic Links, intelligent URLs that facilitate the transition of users of a website to its corresponding app. Hermanto informs that, however, the web addresses reduced by the platform will continue to redirect to the destination page and will not be migrated to Firebase. Users who are interested in migrating will be given tools to take action.
For anyone to feel helpless with the discontinuation of the Google shortener, TechTudo brings a list of options for shortening free links.

One of the most popular tools for reducing links, Bit.ly allows, in addition to shortening the URL, how to customize it. To have a "bit.ly/oquequiser" address, just make a brief registration on the service and check if the term is available for customization. In addition, when creating the account, it is possible to monitor the number of clicks from the address, just as in Google Shortener. However, for those who only want a smaller address, just paste the original in the bar, click on Shorten and copy the result.

Simple to use, Is.Gd offers a series of resources without any need to register. After pasting the address in the highlighted bar, the user can click on the discreet arrow with the Further options / custom URL option. Then there is the possibility to create a link with the custom ending or with standard format, lowercase letters or lowercase letters that form a word. In addition to the short address, an access link to a QR Code and a page are generated to monitor the number of clicks received.

The link shortening feature is actually one of the many options offered within the Hootsuite dashboard, a social media management tool. Therefore, before using it for the first time, it is necessary to carry out a brief registration with information about you and your company.
To access the URL reducer, just click on the Write message box, located at the top, paste the address of the page and click Shorten. The tool allows you to choose between the following link options: ow.ly, owl.li, ht.ly and htl.li. As with Google Shortener, you can track the number of clicks received by the publication.

The Shortener has a feature very similar to that offered by the Google tool. The user just needs to type or paste the link to be reduced in the highlighted bar and click on Shorten URL. Then, the miniature option appears on the screen, with a button to copy the address. The service also allows you to track the number of clicks received. The only disadvantage is perhaps the fact that the smaller address is not so small, since the reduction is shortened.com.br/xxxx.

Despite the slightly less attractive interface than other sites of its kind, Tiny is easy to use and has the ability to transform the link into QR Code. To use, just paste the address, starting with http: // in the highlighted bar and activate the Tiny! Button. Below, there is a reduced option, the possibility of sharing it through other services and generating a QR code from it.
