Samsung may launch a new version of the Galaxy Fold with a more "affordable" price

Samsung's Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip have been capturing the attention of smartphone enthusiasts: both for their technology and their high price. After a patent suggested the configuration of cameras for the successor of the Z Flip, new rumors now appear that indicate that Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy Fold Lite: a foldable model with a more affordable price.

According to Max Weinbach, a well-known equipment leaker from the South Korean brand and a member of the XDA Developers portal, the price of the Galaxy Fold Lite is around 1,099 dollars and will be available internationally. Apparently, the smartphone may have a Snapdragon 865 processor from Qualcomm, however, does not provide support for 5G networks.

The Galaxy Fold Lite can also have 256 GB of storage. According to Max Weinbach, the smartphone will have a smaller screen than the original Galaxy Fold. In addition, the company may include a foldable plastic display instead of ultra-thin glass.

Although Max Weinbach does not put forward a possible date for the launch of the new smartphone, Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, predicts that Samsung will be able to reveal it to the world in July this year.

The official says the smartphone will be called Galaxy Fold Special Edition instead of Galaxy Fold Lite. According to the CEO, the South Korean company is preparing the arrival of the successor of the Galaxy Fold with a cleaning of stock of the original model. Remember that Samsung plans to launch the successor to Fold during the second half of this year.
