The next iPhone, which should be called iPhone 12 has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks. This time, the rumors indicate that the most expensive models from Apple may have a screen with a higher refresh rate, going to 120 Hz, double the current one. If confirmed, this upgrade allows for a faster response, in which several Apple competitors, such as Samsung and One Plus, have already bet.
The information released on the YouTube channel EverythingApplePro, which clarifies that this update should not be present in the cheapest models. Still, all versions will have to integrate OLED displays instead of the usual LDC displays on the iPhone, which do not offer so much contrast.
Note, however, that there is a possibility that the phone can switch between two different refresh rates for the screen, depending on the task it is performing, to save battery. Therefore, you can only reach 120 Hz in case of games or fast scrolls, for example.
The truth is that Apple already has devices with this update rate, since through the ProMotion feature the iPad Pro reaches 120 Hz. The change comes at a time when higher update rates are already dictating the trend in some smartphones Android. In addition to Samsung's Galaxy S20 line and the One Plus 8 Pro, both with 120 Hz, gaming smartphones manufactured by ASUS and Razer, also bet on this technology.
