A new maker of Mac clones has just emerged in Germany, even amid several lawsuits over the matter.
HyperMegaNet UG recently started offering a line of computers called PearC, allowing purchase with pre-installed Mac OS X (or Windows Vista / XP, of course). Prices range from 500 to 1,500 euros for the Starter, Advanced and Professional models.
Machines can be customized with a variety of options, including Blu-ray drives, CPUs of varying speeds clock from a 2.2GHz E2200 to a 3.2GHz Core i7 965 and graphics cards such as GeForce 7200GS or GeForce 9800GTX Plus, with up to 2GB of VRAM. An upgrade from 2 to 4GB of RAM, for example, costs 40 euros, while Apple charges 140 euros at its online store.
The last time we talked about the already famous Psystar was in the middle of January, when it threw the legal purchase of Apple's operating system as a positive argument for its existence and market legality.
