Facebook Local is the new social network app aimed at finding attractions and interesting places nearby. With versions for Android and iPhone (iOS), the platform has a lot more features than the "Nearby places" tool, present in the original Facebook application. The following tutorial teaches you how to use all the main functions of the application. Check out the step by step and don't miss the main events in your city.

Step 1. Install Facebook Local and open the app. If you are already logged in to Facebook, the first screen will display the "Continue as (your name)" button. Click on it to proceed with your login or "Change account" if you want to change your user. On the next screen, press "Continue" to give the app access to the device's location.

Step 2. Facebook Local will identify your location by displaying it on the screen. If you want to change the city, tap on that field and select the desired location. Click "Continue" and then "Let's go".

Step 3. The top part of the home screen shows the main location categories. Enter the desired option in this example, select "Attractions" and note that the application displays the events / establishments in order of relevance, established from the interest of your Facebook friends.

Step 4. Touching an establishment, you will see the address, price range, opening hours, which of your friends have visited or liked the place, location on the map, contacts and evaluations of other users. You can also rate the place with a rating of up to five stars.

Step 5. Touching "Filters" at the top of the screen, you can change the city to search for attractions, restaurants, museums etc. Also choose if you want to filter the results by "Open now" or "Visited by friends" and press "Search". The results will be shown according to the selected criteria.

Step 6. By going to "Friends", you will see all the events in which your Facebook friends have expressed interest or confirmed their presence.

Step 7. Facebook Local allows you to access events through the app itself. You can even confirm attendance, invite friends and publish, depending only on the event's privacy settings.

Step 8. Touch the "More" button to access other activity categories. There you will find sections such as Music, Networking, Literature, Causes, Theater and Religion, among others. After accessing the category, just browse the results as explained.

Step 9. Descending on the home screen, you will see three tabs: "For you", which will already be selected, "Events" and "Guides". Tap on "Events" to view the events created on Facebook organized by date. Just enter a day of the week (in this case, Thursday) to see all the attractions of the locality on the date in question.

Step 10. In "Guides", the app shows Facebook events organized by category. Enter the desired one and view the events, which will be classified by relevance and date.

Step 11. The central tab of the app is for notifications. There you can see all invitations received, postings at events confirmed by you and your friends' reactions to your activities at events. The one in the right corner, with the current date, has a calendar and all the events and places where you are planning to compare.

Step 12. You can expand the calendar by clicking on the button with a rectangle and two dashes underneath. To create an event on Facebook from the local app, press the "+" icon, also highlighted. Enter the event information and press the "Create" button.
