The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, participated last night in an event of the organization Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, in which he received the award ?RFK Ripple of Hope? in honor of their commitment to social change.

In his thank-you speech, Cook addressed issues such as the refugee / immigrant crisis in Syria, climate change, Apple charities, access to quality education, privacy, LGBT rights and social discrimination. If the video of the speech that lasted almost 12 minutes is published, we will update this post.

Cook is known to have a special admiration for Robert F. Kennedy and recalled in his speech, too, that he has two photos of the former American attorney general in his office to always remind him of the values ??he admired. For three years (2013, 2014, 2015), the executive also participates in auctions for coffee / lunches at Apple that have already raised more than US $ 1.1 million.

Among other leaders and celebrities who have already received the same award are Bill Clinton, Bono, George Clooney, Taylor Swift and Al Gore.

In a related note, Cook yesterday also publicly supported an initiative promoted by the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
