Information is getting hot: once again a website is now SiliconRumors (old MacScoop) cites sources that corroborate the arrival of a MacBook Air with built-in 3G wireless network. The laptop would have an internal modem that would provide broadband connectivity with cell phone operators.
The same article mentions the possibility that the price of the basic model of the MacBook Air would drop to US $ 1,300 – US $ 1,500 would this be lower than current, more framed in a category of netbooks? and the implementation of SSDs (Solid State Drives) across the board as standard. Finally, they cite an integrated GPS, too.
The most recent indication of such a possibility was the finding of references to 3G in builds Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard distributed to developers. A job opening at Apple also points in the same direction, of something that was first raised in late January (and confirmed two months later).
