iPod shuffle, MacBook and iPhone

Gene Munster, an analyst at Piper Jaffray, surveyed the data released recently by the NPD Group and concluded that April, like February, was a month of decline in Apple sales.

According to him, sales of Macs were 1.8% between March and April and iPods were 9% during the same period. According to his estimates, in this fiscal quarter that ends in June, Apple will sell between 2.1 and 2.3 million Macs, a drop of between 8 and 16%. With iPods, sales are expected to reach between 9.5 and 10.5 million units at the end of the quarter, a fall of between 5 and 14%.

Although this data may represent the second consecutive quarter with a drop in sales, check the negative result of Q2, Munster says that there is a positive side: the drop in sales in April was not as bad as the market expected, in view of the current economic crisis. . Compared to the growth of PC makers that saw a drop of more than 7% in the last quarter, Apple's situation is much better.
