In March, Huawei made its latest smartphone line known to the world. Although they do not have access to Google Mobile Services, the P40 line's equipment bets on photography, hardware and artificial intelligence. The promise was fulfilled and the new P40 and P40 Pro have already arrived in Portugal.
The photographic capabilities are one of the strengths of smartphones, especially the Pro model, as the first impressions of SAPO TEK could attest. Recently, DxOMark elected Huawei's top of the range as the new king of its photography ranking, overtaking the iPhone 11, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro and the Oppo Find X2 Pro.
The Huawei P40 Pro has a Leica four camera system: a 50 MP Ultra Vision wide-angle, RYYB sensor and 1.9f aperture, with OIS stabilizer; a 40 MP kinematic lens; a 12 MP periscope with 5X optical zoom and a TOF lens. In the Huawei P40 the bet is on a triple set of cameras that maintain the wide angle of 50 MP, but reduces the sensor of the second lens to 16 MP and the telephoto zoom to 3x optical, with 8 MP.
In addition, the use of the Ultra Vision Sensor for more light input, HDR and less image noise is highlighted. Combined with the AI ??Image Engine and the addition of super resolution, the correction and choice of the best permanent photo. The front cameras of both models have a 32 MP sensor with auto focus, bokeh effect and support for 4K video.
Inside the smartphones is the new Kirin 990 5G processor, the first 7 nanometer SoC 5G developed by Huawei. According to the manufacturer, the processor shows an improvement of 23% in terms of CPU performance, 39% in the GPU and 460% in the NPU. The energy efficiency has also been improved, reflected in the battery. The P40 Pro comes with a 4,200 mAh battery and the P40 with a 3,800 mAh battery, both with fast charging, although only on the high-end model is supported by the 40 W super fast mode.
The Huawei P40 has a price of 829.90 euros and the P40 Pro starts at 1,049.99 euros for the 256 GB version of storage. In Portugal, the colors available are Black and Gray.
