Apple donates $ 1 million to help flood victims in China

According to USA Today, Apple donated yesterday 7 million yuan (approximately $ 1 million) for the Chinese non-governmental institution The China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (something like ?China Poverty Alleviation Foundation?).

Last week, China had one of the worst flooding events in years. Figures cited by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China show that torrential rains have affected around 31 million people in 500 cities. They have been a concern for the entire country since the end of June and continue to affect more than 1 million people who need assistance.

Donation China CFPA

According to the CFPA, Apple was the first American company to donate to help with the flood tragedy and to work with Ma so that the money is used in the best way. CEO Tim Cook posted on the Chinese social network Weibo the following sentence in English and Chinese: "Our thoughts are with all those devastated by the flood near the Yangtze River."

This is not Apple's first initiative to help the country. In two devastating episodes of earthquakes in China, Ma also contributed by donating $ 8 million in 2013 and another $ 1.6 million in 2014 to help the victims of the provinces of Sichuan and Yunnan where more than 800 people were killed and much damage was done. .
