How to remove the background from photos and make it transparent using Word | Productivity

Microsoft Word has a little-known function capable of removing the background landscape from an image, making it transparent and highlighting only the object that is in the foreground. In an easy way, the user marks the areas that will be eliminated from the photo to obtain the desired result. The useful function to include company logo in documents, for example.

Step 1. To add the image to the document, go to Insert and then go to Images. Select the image among the files on your computer and click the Insert button;

Step 2. Select the image and click on the Format option on the top Word bar. Then select Remove Background in the upper left corner;

Step 3. The tool identifies the background that will be removed automatically, highlighting the area with a purple color, but it may have errors. Select the Mark areas to remove option and draw strokes with the mouse in the area to be deleted to mark everything you want to remove;

Step 4. You can also select the area that will continue to be displayed in the photo by clicking the Mark areas to Keep button. Do the same process of inserting strokes in the desired location;

Step 5. The entire purple area will be deleted from the photo. Select Keep Changes to finish;

Step 6. To save the photo on your computer, right-click and choose the Save as Image … option.
