Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered was announced and released this Tuesday. The game is only available for PlayStation 4 and can now be accessed on the console's digital store for 24.99 euros. PC and Xbox One players will have to wait a few more weeks, as the title will not reach the Microsoft ecosystem until April 30th – pre-ordering can, however, be done.
This new version brings modern textures and animations to the game, just as it did with the first entry in the Modern Warfare saga in 2016. Support was also added for HDR and dynamic light, so the game, originally released in 2009, for PlayStation 3 , Xbox 360 and PC.
Note that the game does not include multiplayer, but brings additional content for Modern Warfare – 2019 – and Warzone, including a skin for your character, two weapons, a special move, an emblem, among other things. Xbox One / PC players have immediate access to content once they finish pre-ordering the game.
Rumors indicating the launch of a Modern Warfare remaster began to emerge in 2018. Dennis Durkin, Activision's CEO, confirmed that the company has plans to launch more "remasters and more reimagined titles" in 2020, so it can wait for more classics reinvented until the end of the year.
