Earlier this week, Intel announced the purchase of Infineon's wireless division for $ 1.4 billion. In an interview granted later FOX Business TV, the company's CEO, Paul Otellini, revealed that Steve Jobs was "very happy" with the deal.
The comment is very important, since Infineon is the supplier of baseband 3G from iPhones for a long time. Intel was not the only one interested in Infineon, so it seems that, for Ma, winning the fight was the best of all worlds.
Apple, of course, is a major partner of Intel today, employing its processors across its line of Mac desktops and laptops.
