A subsidiary of AU Optronics, Cando will soon be able to start producing touch-sensitive panels for Apple for the iPad (9.7 inches).
The new production line would start operating between this and the next month, according to DigiTimes, capable of delivering more than a million touchscreen units per month to Ma.
In mid-March, Wintek was appointed as the main responsible for delays in the manufacture of iPads, which forced Apple to direct the production of touchscreens on its tablet to competitor TPK and later to LG Display, which was joined by Samsung.
Even so, the supply of touch screens remained an issue for Apple, which spurred it to make Prime View International a fourth supplier of the component. It is not yet known whether Cando will replace any of those who work for Apple today or join as an extra.
