Uber guarantees more security for passengers starting this Thursday (26): now, users have the option of sharing their location in real time with trusted contacts using a new easy-access button. The company also announces the security center, with tips and information, and the tool that makes direct contact with the police without leaving the app. The news is part of the update released today and which should reach everyone on the iPhone (iOS) and Android by August 2.
What used to take five or six steps now requires a touch, "explains Uber Product Director Sachin Kansal. The company also says that the news will be available to drivers in the coming months.

How to report Uber driver recklessness
The new button arrives to facilitate access to the security options in the application, which gives access to the three tools. The shortcut is concentrated in the lower right corner of the app, along with the map and travel information.
Among the highlights are the improvements in travel sharing among acquaintances. From now on, the user can register up to five trusted contacts so that routes can be sent with just one touch. That way, friends and family can access the location in real time. Uber claims that no trip will be shared without the user's permission.
The update also brings the function that contacts authorities in cases of risk. In addition, the tool shows the driver's information, such as name, license plate and car, and the current location, to facilitate communication with the police. The company recalls that the resource should be used only when necessary.
