In addition to Free app of the week, every Thursday Apple chooses a Movie of the week, whose purchase is for $ 3. The title selected this time was Independence Day – The Resurgence, by director Roland Emmerich.
Check out his trailer:
Here's what Apple says about the movie:
Twenty years after an extraterrestrial invasion almost destroyed the planet, Earth's inhabitants face a new threat with the aliens invading the world again. Director and screenwriter Roland Emmerich and screenwriter Dean Devlin rejoin "Independence Day – the thrilling continuation of 1996's huge success. Spectacular special effects and vibrant fighting scenes mark the conflict between humans and aliens. The film features Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman, two veterans who bring a lot of emotion to the story and who, as in the first film, are determined to save the world.
As usual, our reader Renato Alan Promenzio [@tripalavra], who is a cardholder, also sent us a personalized comment about the film:
Roland Emmerich, who has already directed blockbusters like The Patriot, The Day After Tomorrow and even the predecessor of Movie of the weekis specialized in ending the world, creating wars, showing the strength of the human being to unite in difficult times. He brought us this continuation, which in my opinion would not need to exist. Seeking to unite the qualities of the first film in the franchise, without its main character, it succumbed at the box office and also in the face of criticism. You see: the movie is not bad, just something that shouldn't have happened. Lately we have seen rules from classics that have been unsuccessful, such as Ben-Hur, Emotion Hunters, and / or unnecessary continuations that lead franchises to wear their images, like The Terminator.
