Since the launch of the new MacBooks Pro, dozens of users have started to complain on Apple's support forums about problems with Family Sharing (Home Sharing) of iTunes, especially on its use with Apple TVs. Anyone who noticed the problem was surprised with error messages when trying to connect to one of the new laptops via set-top box.

The messages warn of connection failures and even the absence of content on the computer, even though it appears normally in the list of machines supported by iTunes Home Sharing. One of the users even replicated the flaws in an Apple store and had to be asked to request a refund for the purchase.
Other groups of users have been facing similar difficulties for a long time, but there is still no way to determine the cause of any of them. So far, iTunes Family Sharing has been enhanced just to add iPads, iPhones and iPods touch to the list of supported products, but it is expected that fixes for iTunes on the desktop will be made soon.
