In addition to Free app of the week, every Thursday Apple chooses a Movie of the week, whose purchase is for $ 3. The title selected this time was Aquarius, with Snia Braga.
Check out his trailer:
Here's what Apple says about the movie:
the only Brazilian representative at the 2016 Cannes Festival competition, Aquarius follows the trajectory of a woman in a battle of resistance. Clara is the only resident of a building that is being purchased by a contractor and is attacked for not leaving her apartment. Supported by the masterful performance of Snia Braga, filmmaker Kleber Mendona Filho discusses real estate speculation, the power of corporations and the country's lack of memory.
As usual, our reader Renato Alan Promenzio (@tripalavra), who is a cardholder, also sent us a personalized comment about the film:
O Movie of the week it had everything to take off at the time of its launch, but the political discourse of the cast and directors ended up hindering what could have been something bigger. The simple, linear plot, well conducted by its cast and mainly by Snia Braga (who obtained his first international success in The Kiss of the Spider Woman, 1985). Aquarius was even considered for the Oscar, but ended up being selected. I consider it an interesting film that shows how much Brazilian cinema is growing.
